Custom safety signs for Derby and Derbyshire
Safety signage is a legal requirement in most UK workplaces, and it is one of the few signs where getting it wrong has consequences beyond looking scruffy. We print health and safety signs for Derby, Chesterfield and the rest of Derbyshire to the 1996 Safety Signs and Signals Regulations — right pictogram, right colour, right size for the viewing distance.

Mandatory signs
Blue circles — PPE must be worn, hi-vis beyond this point, hand sanitise on entry, keep this area clear.

Yellow triangles — high voltage, forklift in operation, slippery surface, deep excavation. The ones people actually read.

Red circles — no entry, no smoking, do not touch, unauthorised persons. Clear enough that nobody can claim they missed it.

Compliance is the easy bit — legibility is the job
A safety sign that nobody can read at the distance they need to read it is decoration. We spec the material to where the sign lives, and size the pictogram to the viewing distance rather than to whatever fits the sheet.
- Aluminium for external and site signage — will not curl, will not fade off the post.
- Foamex and rigid PVC for internal walls where weight and cost matter more than impact.
- Self-adhesive vinyl for machinery, doors and anywhere flat you cannot drill.
- Photoluminescent for escape routes that have to work when the lights do not.
- Easy-clean, wipeable finishes for food, clinical and washdown areas.
