What we supply
Notice boards for Derby and Derbyshire
A notice board is where information goes when it changes: rotas, minutes, event posters, the rules for the site, the things a building is legally required to show. The right board depends on two questions — who is allowed to change what is on it, and whether it lives inside or out.
We supply notice boards from Alfreton and print what goes on them. Permanent signs, like room and door signs, are a different job — see interior signage. Short-term printed panels for events and sites are on our display boards page.
Lockable notice boards
A glazed front that locks, so notices cannot be taken down, moved or written on. For anywhere the public can reach the board — receptions, school entrances, church porches, shared hallways.

The pin board. Quickest to update and the usual choice for staff rooms, classrooms and offices where the people changing it are the people reading it.

Notices held with magnets rather than pins, so nothing gets holes in it and it all moves around easily. Good for rotas and planning boards.

Made to go outside — at a gate, in a car park, on a site entrance or outside a village hall — and keep the notices readable in the weather.

We print what goes on the board too: posters, rotas, site rules and safety signs. See poster printing for sizes.

Who changes it, and where does it live?
Most notice boards that disappoint were bought for the wrong room. Answer these before you pick one and it will do its job for years.
- Inside or outside? A board outdoors has to keep the weather off the paper. A felt board by a gate will be soggy by the end of the week.
- Who is allowed to change it? If anyone walking past can reach it and should not touch it, it needs a lockable front.
- Pins or magnets? Felt takes drawing pins; a magnetic board uses magnets and leaves no holes.
- How much has to go on it? Count the A4 sheets you want up at once and add a few. That decides the size better than the wall does.
- What it has to show. Workplaces must display the HSE health and safety law poster, or give staff the leaflet version. Our workplace safety signs guide covers the rest.
Our own framed board by the reception door in Somercotes. The same idea as a lockable notice board: the information stays behind glass and stays readable.
What it costs
What decides the price
There is no fixed price list for notice boards, because the type, the size and whether it goes inside or outside all change the number. Tell us those and you will get a real figure back, usually the same day.
